Anselmi Ridge Village
Masterplanning a brand-new 36ha community at Anselmi Ridge, Pukekoe, required innovation, collaboration – and a glance into the past. To avoid a sense of sterility, and ensure the development would grow into itself as time passed, Construkt set out to create a sense of neighbourhood on the former farmland. By teaming with landscape experts Oculus, they shaped a street plan around the natural hydrology of the site, and found that it echoed traditional English mill-side villages: in the heart, a cosy centre of tightly grouped houses enclosed by water, while towards the edges larger properties blend into countryside.
To bring this concept to life Construkt came up with an innovative new type of home. Called Parkside housing, it offered medium density living with the feel of a standalone home. Built on relatively narrow sections, and built hard to a side boundary to maximise usable space, the homes provide attractive living with the enhanced sense of community that comes from a closer, village feel.
The quality design of the community was recognised in 2011 with an Award for Excellence at the Property Council New Zealand Awards.
