Medal Haul For Construkt
While it seems almost everyone’s attention in New Zealand (along with us at Construkt) is currently on the Olympics and our own home-grown athletes, on Friday evening we took a break from all things sporting for a few hours to focus on another competition and on another race for medals.
Last Friday saw the return of the Annual ADNZ Regional Design awards dinner, where over some fine dining at the Hilton Construkt were awarded an impressive four of the eighteen awards presented.

This Year Construkt were winners of:

- A Regional Award for Multi-Unit Housing for a development in Huia Road Point Chevalier
- A Regional ADNZ Resene Kaitiakitanga Award for the Line Road Mult-Unit Housing Development in Glen Innes.
- A Commended Award for Multi-Unit Housing for the Owairaka Re-Development
- A Commended Award for Commercial Interiors and Fitouts for the Lobby at 162 Victoria St. West

During the evening Keryn Davis, CEO of ADNZ, commented “the sheer number of incredible designs from the Auckland region was outstanding…with designs that are impactful and important to Aotearoa’s built environment.” Ms Davis also noted “We were excited to see five multi-unit projects pick up gongs,” three of which were from Construkt, only further reinforcing our commitment at Construkt to achieving in the area of multi-unit intensification and needed density uplift in much of New Zealand’s built environment.

2024 has certainly been a challenging year for Construkt and many in the construction sector as we have sought out new opportunities in an economic climate that is far from favourable, which made Friday even more memorable as a chance to highlight some success stories rather than challenges – even if only for a few hours.

And as this newsletter goes out the signs of an economic uplift are starting to emerge, as we are currently receiving a notable increase in enquires and proposals being sent out – evidence that those who are looking 6-12 months ahead know they need to get the front end work on projects underway now in preparation for the turnaround we are expecting by the New Year, but hoping, along with most of us that this occurs even sooner.

And if you want to know more about the projects that were recognised on Friday, we look forward to featuring each one these in upcoming issues of this news letter.
