Three street-fronting wings give this proposed accommodation development at 90–94 Thompson Street a scale that responds to the surrounding Queenstown neighbourhood. Dark cladding frames a lighter central entrance, while terraces open towards the lake.
The proposal brings together three lots totalling 2,125m², replacing three existing residences. The site falls approximately eight metres towards the One-Mile Stream Reserve. Basement parking, a dedicated drop-off zone and consolidated vehicle access organise arrivals along Thompson Street.
A seven to eight metre setback along the southern boundary reduces the need for geotechnical stabilisation. The engineering proposals also include realigning an existing 100mm sewer line.
Hallion Architects designed the project for Coherent Hotels Ltd. Construkt is undertaking the building consent documentation.
