47 Pembroke Street is a medium-density apartment development located on the corner of Pembroke Street and Palmerston Street in Hamilton. The project delivers 24 apartments across three residential levels, with basement parking, resident and visitor bike storage, and a clear architectural address to both street frontages.

The design responds to a compact urban corner site by breaking the building into a series of related but distinct architectural forms. Light brick elements provide texture and solidity to the primary street frontage, while darker standing seam cladding and fibre cement panels introduce contrast, depth and a more urban apartment character. Recessed balconies, screening, varied openings and planted edges help modulate the façades, provide privacy for residents, and reduce the perceived scale of the overall building.

At street level, the project is designed to contribute positively to the neighbourhood through defined edges, visible entries, landscaping and overlooking of the surrounding public realm. The result is a compact residential development that balances efficient apartment planning with a considered architectural response to its corner site and existing suburban context.
