Residential Design Guidelines
  • Project Urban Design
Construkt has developed Residential Design Guidelines for a wide range of masterplanned communities throughout New Zealand. Our guidelines are grounded in strong urban design principles and aim to create attractive, liveable, and well-integrated neighbourhoods.

We work collaboratively with developers, councils, and design teams to ensure these guidelines reflect local context and regulatory expectations. Our frameworks balance consistency with flexibility, encouraging architectural diversity while maintaining a coherent visual identity.

A key component of our approach includes the integration of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles. These focus on natural surveillance, clear definition of public and private space, and thoughtful layout of streets and open spaces to support safe, well-overlooked environments.

Construkt has delivered Residential Design Guidelines for a wide range of developments, including:

• Port Nikau, Whangārei
• Anselmi Ridge, Auckland
• Ara Hills, Auckland
• Aurora, Hamilton
• East Quarter, Papamoa
• Deacon Point, Riverhead
• Grand Terraces, Ōrewa
• Hobsonville Point, Auckland
• Murphys Park, Flat Bush
• Kauri Grove, Huapai
• Long Bay, Auckland
• Park Green, Auckland
• Richmond Terrace, Taupō
• Temple View

Our guidelines support the delivery of high-quality residential environments that promote safety, encourage neighbourly interaction, and contribute to enduring community value.
