Team McMillan BMW were so delighted with the multiple award-winning showroom Construkt designed for them, that they reconstructed the nearby head office as a near replica.
The building was originally created as Firestone’s New Zealand head office. However the flexibility that was built into the design allowed BMW to move in with minimal changes when Firestone relocated.
The former tyre centre converted readily to a car showroom as did part of the first floor offices, with the existing car parking ramp system providing ideal vehicle access to that floor. The main entry point and lobby spaces were placed where the two street frontages meet, with stairs enclosed within a three storey high aluminium-clad cylinder that has become the dominant symbol of the building.
