Construkt Architects developed the masterplan and contributed to the residential design guidelines for East Quarter in Pāpāmoa, Tauranga. Undertaken for Classic Developments, the project covers approximately 14 hectares and was planned to connect a new residential neighbourhood with an adjoining town centre.

A key challenge was establishing wider connections while surrounding residential, commercial and retail developments were still being designed. The layout evolved collaboratively, balancing traffic engineering requirements with opportunities to connect streets and pedestrian routes beyond the site.

A grid of streets and central public open space organise the neighbourhood. The masterplan provides for a mix of standalone homes, terraced housing and apartments, with medium-density housing positioned close to amenities. Street trees and a connected walking and cycling network support access to shops, services and recreation.
