Molesworth Place is a medium-density affordable housing development in Māngere, Auckland, designed by Construkt Architects for Housing Foundation. Set on a 4,331m² brownfield site formed by consolidating multiple former low-density residential properties, the project delivers 26 homes in a mix of two, three and four-bedroom typologies. The design focuses on affordability through clear site planning, efficient built form and durable, buildable design decisions, while maintaining the qualities that matter most in everyday life: natural light, privacy, usable outdoor space and a strong relationship to the street. A rear laneway reduces driveway dominance, while passive surveillance, planting and a well-defined street edge help create a coherent and liveable neighbourhood outcome.
