Construkt Architects designed Summer Gardens Apartments, a proposed apartment development on Campbell Road in Takapuna, Auckland. We were architect and lead consultant for Xin Yue Development.

The proposal, supported by our urban design report, combined one- to three-bedroom apartments and two penthouse suites on a 1,391m² site. A rooftop terrace, gym and swimming pool were planned as shared amenities, providing residents with spaces for recreation and social interaction.

The roof form drew on the pitched rooflines of surrounding houses, helping the apartment building relate to its residential setting. Operable metal screens on the eastern and western façades were designed to provide shade and privacy. Together with variations in colour and texture, the screens helped break up the building’s apparent bulk and added depth to the façades.
