Construkt Architects designed Manuroa Road Terraces for Classic Developments in Takanini, South Auckland. The residential development introduces contemporary medium-density terraced housing into an established suburban neighbourhood, providing an alternative to traditional standalone homes.

The architectural approach explores a range of terraced housing typologies, using variations in building form, rooflines, materials and façade detailing to create individual identity within a cohesive development. The design balances efficient land use with residential amenity, considering sunlight, privacy and the relationship between homes and neighbouring properties.

Street-facing entrances and the arrangement of buildings contribute to the relationship between private homes and public spaces. These considerations were also addressed in the supporting urban design report prepared by Construkt.

The project demonstrates how medium-density housing can provide greater housing choice within established Auckland neighbourhoods while maintaining a considered residential scale.
